Kayson is speaking in clear sentences more and more each day. He is still terrified of the scary ghost and scary guy he encountered last month. In fact, one day he told us, “Scary ghost and scary guy, I’m not scared, just say no thanks. No thank you!” It’s now a new moto in our house. Halloween is going to be interesting this year.
We learn a lot from Kayson. One Sunday this week while partaking of bread during the sacrament he said, “It’s broken.” We told Kayson that the bread is broken like Jesus’s body was bruised, broken, and torn for us. What a great reminder of how special the sacrament is!
August 4 We attended Jacob's baptism in the morning. Jacob is our cute blonde nephew. We then drove to Heber and enjoyed an indoor picnic with Chrissy’s dad, step-mom and step-siblings.
August 8 We wanted to get out of the summer heat so we took Kayson to an indoor playground, he had a blast!
August 9 Chrissy’s sister and brother-in-law were in town from Florida so Chrissy and Kayson spent the day with them at Thanksgiving Point Natural Curiosity Museum. We went to JCW’s for lunch.
August 12 Lyman Family Home Evening We met with the Lyman’s for a potluck dinner at a park.
August 13 Kevin started his new job, he does customer support.
August 18 We went to the County Fair in Spanish Fork. We watched a man swim with sharks, learned about how bees make honey and watched a presentation about reptiles. During the reptile demonstration they showed us some lizards, a couple of snakes and even a small crocodile.
August 25 Chrissy’s dad took us to Hogle Zoo, it was Kayson’s first zoo experience. We rode the train and attended a bird show. We were able to see an eagle up close. We even saw a mother and baby leopard.
August 26 We were privileged to speak in sacrament meeting. Chrissy spoke about Devin G. Durrant’s April 2018 talk, “Teaching in the Home-a Joyful and Sacred Responsibility.” Kevin spoke about Larry Echo Hawk’s April 2018 talk, “Even as Christ Forgives You, So Also Do Ye.”
