This Thanksgiving holiday we have been very blessed with miracles and tender mercies of the Lord.
November 4 We attended our Stake Conference. As always there was good counsel from our leaders.
November 23 Thanksgiving Day We drove down to St. George early in the morning to visit Chrissy’s parents. Kayson was well behaved for most of the drive and we didn’t even need to make any stops. The weather in St. George was so gorgeous, it didn’t feel like November at all! Although it was Thanksgiving it was also Chrissy’s Step Father’s birthday so we enjoyed a Thanksgiving/birthday dinner and then watched Christmas Vacation.
November 24 We went to the Family History Center but it was closed, so instead we went to the St. George Temple Visitors Center. We watched the church’s Christmas initiative—a movie about Oliver Cowdery—and visited an exhibit on The Family: A Proclamation to the World. They also had a fun nativity display. While we were in the area we decided to look for the house where Kevin’s Grandma and Grandpa Lyman had lived for several years. We found the home and took pictures, as Kevin reminisced some of his fondest memories of the home. In the evening the men went to see the “Justice League” movie while the ladies and Kayson took a stroll to a nearby park.
November 25 We visited the winter home and office of Brigham Young. Brigham Young occupied the home and office from 1873 to 1876. It was interesting to see some of his belongings and learn a little more about him. Kayson had more fun running around outside though.
November 26 We drove back home and, thankfully, the weather was still cooperative. When we got home we put up our Christmas tree and decorations.
