October 2017

October began with beautiful fall weather.

We started a new Lyman tradition. Every Sunday evening the adults join a conference call for family prayer.

Kayson has officially started his terrible two stage. He has successfully mastered temper tantrums, gained higher and more annoying pitches to his screaming, and more projectile throwing of his food across the room. However, in all of this, we realize how blessed we are to have him. We are aware that it could be worse, as we have seen what worse looks like, and are glad that he is still pleasantly good-natured.

October 1 We watched Sunday sessions of conference at home.

October 6 Unfortunately Kevin’s career with Entrata was cut short as they decided to part ways with him. It was a difficult day but we are trying to stay positive as we search for a new job.

October 7 Ashley and kids were in town. Ashley was kind enough to take some family pictures that turned out wonderfully! She always does wonderful photos. We had family home evening at the Johansen’s house where we talked about our favorite General Conference talks, played some fun Halloween games and celebrated Bree’s birthday.

October 19 We went to Jaker’s Pumpkin Patch in Springville with Grandma and Grandpa Johnson. We got lost in a corn maze, admired the pumpkins, and rode a tractor hayride. Kayson learned how to say “Bye-bye, tractor.”

October 28 We attended our ward’s chili cook off and trunk-or-treat. It was Kayson’s first experience with trunk-or-treating. He didn’t quite know what to do as he tried to give away the candy in his pumpkin bucket instead of taking what others offered. I guess we can be grateful he knows how to share. He had fun until a moving, glowing skeleton decoration in someone’s trunk scared him to death.

October 29 We gathered at the Lyman house to celebrate Greg’s birthday with a variety of treats.

October 31 Halloween!!! This year we dressed up as the Justice Avengers. Kevin was Spiderman, Chrissy was Batgirl and little Kayson made the perfect Captain America.
